During class, we watched a series of short clips with different sound effects in them. Some had some sound and other didn't. 

The reason why we did this was so we had an an idea of what sound we would use for our upcoming movie. And also this assisted us to conceive the effect of sound when watching something because it makes a massive impact on the thinking of the audience. 

I chose a clip from youtube of a thriller movie, called Paranormal Activities 1, and analysed the dialogue, music(and silence) and sound effects. 

The clip is also presented below, so the descriptions for dialogue, music and sound effects can be properly understood

Dialogue:

Within this clip, the dialogue from the characters are towards the end when they realise something is wrong. The male character is woken up by the female character who senses an unusual feeling around her.

Music(and silence):

There is absolutely no music in the clip, only diegetic noise. For example, the light switch turning on and off. 

But for the majority of the clip, there is silence as the couple are shown to be sleeping. 

Sound Effects:

The only sound effect on this clip is the door creeking open and close. This effect is supposed to keep the audience on edge and nobody actually knows what's going to happen next.
